I truly hope that vedrana doesn’t do the exact same shit. I’d hate to see one crit wonder literally become that.

…Holy shit. I was not expecting that. I am completely blindsided, especially from a narrative point of view. Though he totally deserves it.

I don’t think this is going to happen to One Crit Wonder though. At least from my point of view, a GM/raid leader swearing at people (especially during a tough night, doubly especially against a boss that should be simple) is a lot easier to stomach than a GM suddenly demanding that we raid extra days this week and then continues to swear at the people who are doing him a favor just by showing up.

In fact, I left a perfectly nice and friendly guild just for that reason last week. It was on good terms, but I simply couldn’t do 3 nights a week, which the guild was gravitating towards. I imagine a lot of people would have been in a similar situation to me if the GM had been dumb enough to say “I want Gorefiend down, so I’m enforcing raiding every night this week.” He wouldn’t have gotten a team together, and several people probably would have quit on the spot. And that’s exactly what Orhan demanded, even cancelling other events in order to do so.

So, I guess what I’m saying is, this is a completely reasonable thing to happen to Order of Swords, and the only reason I didn’t see it coming was that it throws a hell of a wrench into the main plot.

Watching the ‘left the guild’ messages scroll by is a horrific experience. Until you leave yourself.

I wasn’t on for it, but this sort of thing happened with my old guild. I was out of town for two weeks for work, and the guild leader had a personal situation. He turned the guild leadership over to our raid leader who was pushing people to do heroics. The raid leader thought it would be more efficient to kick everybody out who wasn’t on the heroic raiding team. I came back home to all of my characters on that server being guildless. I was not a happy mage. My new guild is fine, but they stopped raiding early in HFC.
