I’ve been in Lys’s position so many times. During MoP my raid team couldn’t get a tank to stay, so I ended up training about half a dozen new tanks to do Stone Dogs and Feng.
Oh god though Stone Guardians or whatever was so bad for my team at first. We were stuck on it for like a month, it was sad. Then we just said “forget it” and stacked all the dogs together and AoE’d them and it worked better because who cares about mechanics right?
It showed me that the human ability to always find bad stuff to stand in was infinite.
It showed me how much hate was a viable fuel for my body.
It also showed me how much of an asshole I could be.
The DPS thing too, for sure. If I’m not top I rationalize it by noting that the guy who can sometimes beat me has his 4 set and I don’t, and that his spec is ranked higher on warcraft logs. Then I cry inside.
Actually, This Tank loves the ‘locks & mages. It’s the !@%$@#!%@#@$@$ hunters and rogues that think they can pull half the instance (then vanish & feign death) that drives ME insane with hate.

Never mind that of the single square centimeter of his face that’s visible above the mask, like 30% of it is covered in perspiration.
I suspect his eyes are squinted in a grimace, not a grin.
Tanks are fueled by their burning hatred for their DPS. Healers by sheer masochism. And DPS by the desperate need to be better than each other.
And only by mashing those collective neuroses together can a raid function. Which is why raid leaders tend to go insane and swear a lot.

Lysandra is now officially my new favorite character. Right next to Keran. And Vedrana. And Castor. And Theron.
